Orienting Mesh to Control Opacity and Texture

Because of the directionality of the opening of expanded mesh, it has different levels of opacity from different viewing angles.

Designers take advantage of this in their designs in different ways:

1.  Create surfaces with unique aesthetics and variegated textures
2. Form layered surfaces where color or lighting comes through to add depth and visual interest
3. Develop directionality with a surface
4. Block light or visual access from certain directions
