\n<\/strong>The contractor used \u201cSteel Dog\u201d (steel-dog.com<\/a>) wall ties and \u201cHycrete\u201d(an admixture,\u00a0www.hycrete.com<\/a>) in order to waterproof the 30\u2019 high\u00a0 by 300\u2019 long blindside wall project at the FDA Research facility.\u00a0 The contractor felt this was more economical than other waterproofing alternatives.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>In order to waterproof this blindside wall project the contractor attached a\u00a0Voltex\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(cetco.com<\/a>) Bentonite Geotextile membrane to the stay-form. He then applied\u00a0Bentoseal\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>around all of the wall ties. Then a\u00a0Voltex\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>patch was placed over the wall tie and more\u00a0Bentoseal\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>was applied over the patch.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Dwayne Goldberg used STAY-FORM\u00ae<\/sup> for the first time in a blindside wall application on this hospital expansion project. The Symons STAY-FORM\u00ae<\/sup> hook-ties were spaced 24\u201d on center horizontally and 12″ on center vertically for the 16′ high 12″ & 14″ thick walls. Voltex waterproofing was applied to the STAY-FORM\u00ae<\/sup> . The 3000psi concrete was placed in approximately 4 foot lifts.<\/p>\n
