AMICO Presented with AWCI Construction Quality Award

This past April, AWCI hosted their annual AWCI Convention and INTEX Expo in Long Beach. On April 29, they hosted the annual Awards Brunch, during which AMICO was recognized as a manufacturer and supplier for the historic renovation of the St. Mary Cathedral Basilica in Galveston, Texas. The project was nominated for AWCI’s Excellence in Construction Quality Award, and won the top honor in the category of Historic Renovation, acknowledging all AWCI members, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers who took part in the project. AMICO would like to AWCI for this prestigious honor!

Bilbao Mesh Showcased at PUMA Las Vegas Fashion Show Mall Location

Our APEX Mesh products are showing up more and more frequently in recent architectural projects. Below is one of many examples of the wide array of uses for our products, specifically Facades and Cladding. The Bilbao Mesh utilized in this project was manufactured in Iberville for the PUMA storefront in the Las Vegas Fashion Show Mall.

Florida Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association Highlights AMICO

The Florida Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association is the voice of the Florida wall and ceiling industry. Made up of contractors and industry allies FWCCA represents the needs and concerns of the wall and ceiling contractors not only as they relate to the trade but as a business person. The FWCCA Officers and Board of Director members work to improve the standards of the industry as a whole.

AMICO’s Expanded Metal Corp. Celebrates 125th Birthday

One of Hartlepool’s oldest companies is celebrating its 125th birthday by investing millions more pounds in the plant. Bosses at Expanded Metal say they are here to stay after reaching the fantastic milestone. But, they’re not done yet and are planning for another 125 years. The company, which makes products including expanded metal meshes, has signed a new lease to remain at its site on the Longhill Industrial Estate until 2024.

AMICO Products Used In Testing Of U. S. Navy LaWS Laser Weapon

One of the more recent, and fascinating, applications of AMICO products relates to the military—more specifically, the U.S. Navy. AMICO’s aluminum bar grating was utilized in constructing the platforms on which the floating targets were set for preliminary testing of a prototype laser weapon that could play an important role in the future of naval combat.
